Anthony Bristol has over 24 years of experience post qualification, working both locally and regionally. He has a diversified portfolio of clients with an emphasis on commercial and corporate matters, tax, restructuring, joint ventures, receiverships, PPPs, and negotiations with governments.

Anthony was instrumental in the strategy and establishment of the international financial services sector in St. Lucia, being a director of the private sector partner and one of two leads on the drafting of the PPP agreement and the enabling legislation.

Having commercial experience prior to reading law, and with vast experience on boards of local and regional companies, Anthony brings a commercial mind and approach to the challenges his clients face and then frames solutions that are supported by the law and attain the best of the most favorable client outcome.

    • Negotiation with financial institutions - our commercial practice was founded on representing clients in engagements with commercial banks. For over 24 years the outcomes have all been favourable.

    • Engaging governments - comprehensive representation from negotiating contracts and concessions to claims for compensation and structuring innovative settlements.

    • Representation in tax matters - wide ranging expertise from negotiations with the Inland Revenue Department, objections to assessments, tax tribunals and litigation.

    • Receiverships - successfully completed several receiverships on behalf of commercial banks, the most significant of which was The Landings St. Lucia Resort & Spa.

    • Public, Private Partnerships (PPPs) - extensive experience in negotiating and drafting PPPs in St. Lucia and the region both on behalf of the private sector partner and on occasion, on behalf of the government.

    • Legislative drafting - Anthony was one of two attorneys contracted to draft the suite of legislation for the financial services sector and advises government on amendments to tax legislation.

    • Served as a director and legal advisor to many corporate clients including Massy Stores St. Lucia, JQ Charles Group, Guardsman St. Lucia and CGM Gallagher Insurance Brokers.
